How Traffickers Work : 3 STAGES OF MISERY

Trafficking in children or other persons can happen in many different ways, but there are usually three stages to this crime. They are:

  1. Recruitment - by force or deception. A Trafficker may kidnap somebody or may fool them up to trick them into going with them.

  2. Transportation - moving the victim to a different part of the country, or to another country, legally or illegally.

  3. Exploitation - through selling or using the victim to make money for the Trafficker.

Traffickers use violence and force to keep their victims working for them. Sometimes they threaten to hurt the victim's family members if they escape. Many victims are so badly abused they die.
